2011: Beautifying Elmhurst

To launch off the first year of Young Governors, we determined our major issue of focus to be the lack of cleanliness in Elmhurst. To ensure that a broad range of community members could participate in the effort, we actively promoted our projects and organized people to maintain an improved standard of living in Elmhurst.

One of our projects involved a park clean up at Moore Homestead Park, located on Broadway. The highlight of this clean up was the youth at the park recognizing their responsibility to keep the park clean and learning that despite their young age, there were ways they could help.
